For more than 135 years, the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) has served legal professionals in every city and county in New York. Through the New York Bar Foundation, NYSBA supports a broad range of legal service organizations, bar associations, and nonprofits. Here are three ways to support the New York Bar Foundation today:
Cash donation: The simplest way to support the New York Bar Foundation, cash donations can be submitted via unrestricted gifts or restricted funds. Donors can claim their donations as income tax deductions, up to a total of 50 percent of their annual income.
Corporate matching: Many companies offer donation matching programs, which double or triple the value of employee contributions to charitable organizations. If matching programs do not exist, employees can request a donation match from the company’s human resources department.
Memorial: Individuals often donate to the New York Bar Foundation in memory of loved ones or colleagues who have passed away. Memorial donations of at least $1,000 include a permanent inscription on a bronze plaque in Memorial Hall.
